Project Overview
Fairtex Group executed load testing activities for a 260-ton spreader bar and 60-ton pad eye associated with ERHA Calcium Nitrate Tank handling operations. The scope was delivered under the Inspection & NDT Division to support lifting integrity verification and operational readiness prior to heavy lifting deployment activities.
The project involved controlled proof load testing, lifting arrangement verification, inspection support, and monitoring of critical lifting interfaces within a dockyard execution environment.
The Challenge
Heavy lifting systems used for offshore tank handling operations require validated structural integrity and verified load-bearing performance prior to operational deployment. The spreader bar and associated pad eyes formed critical lifting components within the planned handling configuration for the ERHA Calcium Nitrate Tank.
Execution activities required coordinated testing procedures, controlled loading conditions, equipment monitoring, and strict adherence to lifting safety protocols within an active dockyard environment.
The intervention required controlled proof load application and inspection-led verification of critical lifting infrastructure intended for high-capacity offshore handling operations.
Our Approach
Fairtex deployed inspection and load testing personnel supported by calibrated testing equipment, hydraulic load application systems, and lifting verification procedures to validate the integrity of the spreader bar and pad eye assemblies.
The execution methodology incorporated visual inspection activities, alignment checks, load application sequencing, structural observation, and documentation of testing conditions throughout the operation.
Engineering coordination was maintained with project stakeholders to ensure testing procedures aligned with operational lifting requirements and deployment readiness objectives.
Phased Delivery
Pre-Test Assessment
The lifting assemblies and support interfaces were reviewed to confirm readiness for controlled load testing activities. Inspection teams assessed connection points, structural interfaces, and load transfer arrangements prior to testing operations.
Mobilization and Test Setup
Hydraulic systems, lifting accessories, test equipment, and monitoring instrumentation were mobilized and configured within the dockyard work area to support proof load execution.
Load Testing Operations
Controlled proof loads were applied to the 260-ton spreader bar and 60-ton pad eye assemblies in accordance with approved testing procedures. Observations were recorded throughout loading and hold periods to verify structural response and lifting integrity performance.
Inspection and Validation
Post-test inspections and verification activities were completed to confirm acceptable structural condition following load application. Documentation and testing records were prepared to support lifting readiness requirements.
Outcome
The completed testing program verified the readiness of the lifting assemblies for planned handling operations associated with the ERHA Calcium Nitrate Tank scope.
The intervention supported lifting assurance objectives, reduced operational exposure associated with heavy lifting activities, and reinforced inspection-led verification across critical handling infrastructure.
Execution activities were completed within a controlled dockyard environment using phased load application, inspection verification, and coordinated lifting assurance procedures.
